Elior UK celebrates a new

take off at the Imperial War Museum Duxford

On 13 March 2008 digby trout Restaurants, part of Elior UK, hosted a celebration of firsts, for the launch of the new conference and corporate hospitality facilities in the multi-million pound AirSpace building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

Invited guests from local businesses and enterprises gathered beneath the wings of Concorde 101 for a cocktail reception and to hear Elior UK, CEO Michael Audis speak at the event about the new facilities and services available.

Michael commented: “The services that we will be able to provide here are truly innovative, best in class and the envy of many.  Combining our extensive expertise and skills with these facilities will allow for a truly tailored service and we very much look forward to delivering some unique events here.”

digby trout Restaurants are providing catering services to support the state-of-the-art conferencing and events facilities, within AirSpace.  The venue, which can accommodate conferences for up to 200 guests, has a fully equipped lecture theatre, the ‘Marshall Auditorium’. All 6 breakout rooms, named after the most famous aircraft in British war history such as ‘Spitfire, Comet and Vulcan’, are equipped with the latest conference technology and can be used for events of up to 140 guests.

Lunches and dinners are offered in the unique Airside Suite, which allows an incredible view over the still active runway. Corporate hospitality packages will be sold for the Airside Suite during upcoming Air Shows in 2008.

The American Air Museum, designed by Lord Foster, is an outstanding example of contemporary British architecture. It houses exceptional and fascinating collection of aircraft and military exhibits including the largest collection of US aircraft outside America. The building won the prestigious RIBA 'Building of the Year' Award in 1998 and has intrigued and delighted visitors ever since. This remarkable building is already available for exclusive evening hire for dinners, receptions, awards ceremonies and more. With a capacity of 700 for seated dinner dances, with plenty of space for a dance floor and band, this venue is as flexible as your imagination.
